Mesquite City Animal Shelter
Design Learned, Inc. teamed with GSR Andrade Architect to complete this shelter renovation and new addition for the city animal shelter.

This project involves renovations to the existing shelter to improve operational efficiency with a focus on enhanced odor, disease, and noise control. An addition at the rear of the facility expands dog and cat housing and incorporates features such as a cleaning station, trench drains, manufactured animal enclosures, and advanced mechanical systems designed to provide comprehensive environmental control. The project also includes new outdoor dog play yards, strategically located to support animal enrichment and stress reduction. Our work with GSRA, the local architect, required careful integration of existing building systems with the new program requirements for the addition.
