Morris Animal Inn

Updated: Mar 27, 2023

Morris Animal Inn in Montville, New Jersey is a 13,000 square foot new full-service boarding and daycare facility for dogs and cats. This project was a second facility for the owner and needed to reflect the same appearance and level of care provided by their primary facility of the same name. The site was challenging with significant regulatory limitations and a requirement for a septic system. This resulted in limits on building area and water consumption. The solutions to the challenges including developing a two-story building to limit the footprint of the building, a multi-staged septic system that incorporates a hair trap to keep animal hair out of the system, and plumbing and cleaning fixtures with reduced water consumption. The result is a state-of-the-art facility that maintains the client’s desire to be located in a certain area without compromises on the function of the building and service to pets.
